Lien Willems

Lien is a PhD Student.

I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences in 2021 at the VUB and I am currently performing my long internship and writing my master’s thesis at the BENE lab to (hopefully) obtain my master’s degree in Biomedical Research in June 2023. During this one-year internship, I will investigate the role of iron metabolism in beta cells by performing functional and metabolic experiments. In my free time, I like to go shopping, make and eat a lot of cheesecake and tiramisu, spend time with my friends and family, and go on trips together.
